Nadia + Brian | Dunes West Wedding | Charleston Photographer

The day before I was induced into labor, I received a wedding inquiry from Nadia about her Mount Pleasant wedding a year and a half later. I remember my heart skipping a beat at the thought of a Charleston wedding but of course, my life was quickly consumed with a brand new baby. So consumed that I think it took me about 10 days to respond to her follow up email (which is completely unheard of for me) and I just knew I had missed my opportunity. I tried not to beat myself up about it and reminded myself that if it was meant for me, it would find a way. But in the end, the true blessing wasn’t just the chance to shoot another wedding in one of my favorite cities, but the chance to work with such a sweet, genuine and amazing couple as Nadia and Brian.

I met Nadia and Brian (and Otis 💙) in Atlanta last summer for a quick engagement session before they packed their bags to move to Charleston.  I loved them immediately and counted down the months until Nadia’s bridal portraits in Downtown Charleston (more on those soon!). What a dream! And then before I knew it, we were hitting the road again for their June wedding at Dunes West Golf Club. Y’all, it was all I had dreamed of and more. More laughter, more tears, more love. And yes, a little more rain than we had hoped for but if these two don’t look like something straight out of a southern bridal magazine, then I don’t even know what to tell you!

Nadia and Brian were married in an intimate, water front ceremony beneath the oak trees. As the warm salt breeze blew the whispering Spanish moss and rain gently pelted the waterway, these two vowed forever to each other. They spent the rest of their evening celebrating with an elegant dinner followed by the biggest dance party! I am so grateful that I had the honor of capturing this special day and I’m still a little in awe! They are one of those couples I’m really going to miss! 💗
