Lauren + Austin | Married | Berry College Wedding

Love at first site. It wasn’t their thing. The first time I talked to Lauren, I asked her to tell me a little about her and Austin’s story. She started by telling me that she actually didn’t like him much at first. I laughed. When Lauren started her vows to Austin on Saturday the same way, all of their friends and family laughed too. As it turns out, it was love after all.

When Lauren and Austin spoke of their wedding day, they had their loved ones at the center of their thoughts. Spending time with their people was their biggest priority. And just when I thought they couldn’t be more intentional or thoughtful, they did something that left me speechless. As everyone took their seats to await their tables being called for dinner, Lauren and Austin made their way to the buffet line. They each took a handful of plates and passed them out to their wedding party. They continued to pass out plates until every last guest was served before they sat down to enjoy their own meal. It was beautiful to watch and clearly came from a place of true servant’s heart. This was a point that was mentioned more than once during other parts of the day. It was so clear that these two not only love one another but those closest to them. Even Austin said in a welcome to their guests, that they were not just the people that he and Lauren enjoyed hanging out with most but people who had played an integral part in their own relationship.

I loved all of the special touches that Lauren and Austin included in their day. Instead of “traditional” flower girls, Lauren’s grandmothers took on that role. It was fitting since Lauren’s maternal grandmother was also her incredibly talented florist. Her sister drew the art for the programs, which just so happened to be the key spots of the first date, proposal and wedding! Yep, they got married in the same place where they went on their first date! How cool is that?

I’m so grateful to have been able to capture this special day for these special people. I’m so glad they welcomed me into the fold! I loved getting to know them both and their sweet, sweet families!
