As a natural light photographer, I shoot 90% of my sessions outdoors. This often leaves me obsessively checking weather forecasts leading up to a session. In fact, I have at least 3 weather apps on my phone. In case one is giving me bad news, I consult another, praying (sometimes offering useless bribes) that it gives me more appealing news. Last week’s weather was messing with my head. Becca and Cody had their engagement session scheduled for Thursday and we needed to make it happen but this wet fall weather trend had other plans. We ended up working against the cold, misting rain and losing light early but, you guys, the result ended up being amazing!!
As soon as I drove onto the grounds of Oak Hill, one of Rome’s many hidden gems, I found myself in fall color HEAVEN! Seriously, we found the heart of fall all in one little corner and it was magical! Becca and Cody rocked their chilly day engagement session! I’m always so grateful for my wonderful future grooms who are willing to do whatever it takes to get amazing pictures for their bride. These two, and their sweet silliness made this session so much fun. Oh and of course, I knew it was a good sign when Becca started the session with an awesome Friends reference. I laughed and thought to myself, I’m going to love working with these two. Their love for Harry Potter only solidified that thought even more!
It’s going to be so hard to wait until next year for their wedding, I’m already so excited! Be sure to keep scrolling to see all of the fall color pop mixed with a little southern charm.
